Your contributed article, Zamalek Sporting Club

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Zamalek Sporting Club. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Zamalek SC. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Zamalek SC. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Ben5218 (talk) 03:05, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Master Of Ninja: Hello. This notice was sent to you by mistake, and was intended to be sent to User:HanArchive instead (who I thought had created Zamalek Sporting Club) since that user suddenly started to move all content located at Zamalek SC to that redirect page without giving any reasons. I use WP:TWINKLE so I didn't double-check who created that article before sending that warning, so it's a mistake from my side. The issue with that page has been solved after I warned that user and everything is back to normal, for now. You can completely ignore the notice message sent above, and I apology for the inconvenience. Ben5218 (talk) 07:55, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Ben5218: - not a problem. For your interest it's worth looking at the first edits of the page and how they look now. In retrospect they look so terrible when they were first made! It shows how things improve so much over time. Take care! - Master Of Ninja (talk) 09:59, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for deletion of Template:Sultan of Brunei uncertainties

[edit]

China Eastern Airlines Flight 5735

[edit]

Please be careful when deleting references that the reference is not used elsewhere. Removing references creates a cite error, as with your edit to China Eastern Airlines Flight 5735. It's been fixed and no real harm has been done, but it's something you need to be aware of when editing. Mjroots (talk) 11:20, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ordering of categories: MOS:CATORDER

[edit]

Hi. I reverted your alphabetic ordering of categories at Michael Chopra because it violated WP:FOOTY convention. See this recent discussion at WP:FOOTY: [1] The convention is based on MOS:CATORDER which states: "Normally the most essential, significant categories appear first." Please do not change the ordering of categories of football articles to be alphabetical. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:55, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Robby.is.on - noted. I was adding something random and don't really do much with the football pages, and the categories are a mess. Although I will point out that MOS:CATORDER actually states there is no obvious rule on how categories appear. If there is a convention perhaps a note should be put just before the categories, on what the convention actually is? Otherwise how will general editors know about said convention? - Master Of Ninja (talk) 10:37, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
MOS:CATORDER actually states there is no obvious rule on how categories appear Yes. "Normally the most essential, significant categories appear first." is not a rule but reflects common practice. In my experience alphabetised categories aren't that common in other areas of editing, either. I don't think alphabetising aids figuring out whether an article lacks a category.
General editors can have a look at a bunch of other pages in the area before they make a change that could go against convention. I tend to be wary of making this kind of change in editing areas I am unfamiliar with. Adding a note to every article seems a bit much. If we did that for every minor convention like this one, articles would be a mess. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:06, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vektor Z88 moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Vektor Z88, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. AHatd (talk) 13:19, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@AHatd - I think I was half way through editing and adding references when you put it into draft space - so it had error'd out before I saw your message and understood what had happened. - Master Of Ninja (talk) 18:56, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

June 2022

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Vektor Z88. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:24, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz - as noted in the previous section on my chat page, someone else moved it whilst I was mid-edit unfortunately so I did not notice this issue and continued with my edits. - Master Of Ninja (talk) 06:55, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Iglesia Maradoniana has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not many citations / reliable sources establish this as notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 2022 Formula One World Championship

[edit]

Please seek consensus on the talk page regarding the edits you made. "Controversies" sections often violate WP:NPOV unless they are built around a consensus, especially on high visibility articles like 2022 Formula One World Championship. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 09:22, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vips is not a Formula One driver and labelling Andretti’s call for an entry somwhere in the future as “controversial” is pure POV. Nothing of the proposed content is related to the 2022 championship.Tvx1 09:29, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:PhyreEngine games has been nominated for discussion

2022 Morbi bridge collapse

[edit]

Thank you for your work to improve our 2022 Morbi bridge collapse article. However, please see WP:LEDE for guidance on what to include in the introductory sections of articles. They are supposed to summarise key points from the body of the article. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:22, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your input: however my changes were per the guidelines in making a clear, concise overview of the topic. The introduction has morphed back into a mess - if you read the first line it's gone back to a long sentence with multiple commas. - Master Of Ninja (talk) 15:23, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm not referring to changing punctuation, nor clarification, but to where you removed the name of the bridge, and the name of the river it crossed. There are no guidelines which support the removal of such key facts. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:43, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think we'll have to disagree on this. The guideline actually supports removing content to make the page clearer. And the version I edited was a mess, not clear, with the relevant detail further down the page for readers to get to eventually. Apologies it's taken me a long time to log back in and reply. I note the current version again where the name of the bridge has again been taken out of the intro, and into a further part of the page. - Master Of Ninja (talk) 12:28, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
