Sometime when I was still in high school, a recording of what appears to be Queen Victoria's voice was made public. The audio condition was bad - it was on a roll not a disc - but her voice could not be made out. I have no idea what her Majesty's voice sounded like, but I do know her mother tongue was German and she never fully mastered the English language, although, if that recording was any indication, she did speak English fluently.173.206.80.153 (talk) 09:30, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"her mother tongue was German and she never fully mastered the English language" = utter garbage, disproven by the article text and the sources therein. DrKay (talk) 18:07, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, under the section of marriage and public life on Queen Victoria's page there is a slight error I seem to have found.
In the sixth paragraph it states: "On 29 May 1842, Victoria was riding in a carriage along The Mall, London, when John Francis aimed a pistol at her...". According to the diary and journal of the queen, it states this was the 30th of may 1842; not the 29th. Please let me know if any reference is needed.
I am sure you will be able to see this for yourself in her diary.
I hope this is okay and will be changed if I have correctly concluded this is a mistake. If not then I apologise.
Not done As stated in the article, Francis aimed the pistol on the 29th but did not fire. The following day he shot at her. DrKay (talk) 19:15, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for clearing this up. I just double checked today and have seen I was completely mistaken. I had misinterpreted the information quote drastically. Thank you again Roryjmhoward (talk) 12:08, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Under the section Golden and Diamond Jubilees there is no mention of the legacy of Queen Victoria with the formation of Queen’s Nurses. On 20 September 1889 Queen Victoria issued a Royal Charter and the Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Institute for Nurses was constituted. This was the beginning of organised district nursing in the UK. The Queen’s Nursing Institute still exists today and I did wonder if this could be added to the page on Queen Victoria? SueCampbellGH (talk) 18:02, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is an encyclopedia article—not a journal article, not a book-length biography, not a multi-volume monograph—about Victoria. Remsense ‥ 论18:07, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
